Stone County, MS – Shirley Holmes Killed in Train Accident on Pump Branch Rd

Stone County, MS (April 14, 2023) – A woman who lost her life in a fatal traffic accident between a train and a minivan was identified as Shirley Holmes, 58. The crash occurred in Stone County at approximately 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11. 

Reports show the wreck occurred on Pump Branch Road in the Bond community. A train rear-ended a minivan and threw Holmes from the back of the van. Four other people inside the van at the time sustained injuries.

The area was blocked off by police while emergency responders were present, causing delays in traffic. Authorities in Stone County are still investigating the details of the accident.
