Tunica, MS (October 14, 2022) – Shortly before 7:00 p.m. on the evening of October 11, a car accident happened in Tunica that required an emergency dispatch. Reports indicate the wreck occurred on US 61 for reasons still under police investigation.
According to information from local officials, the crash occurred on US 61 just before Clayton Road/Bonnie Blue Road. An unknown number of vehicles crashed in the area and injured those involved.
Emergency medical technicians were sent to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more people received medical care on-site and were taken by ambulance to local hospitals for further assistance.
The names of the involved individuals were not immediately reported. All southbound lanes of the roadway were blocked while emergency crews were present.
