Union County, MS (August 14, 2023) – A pedestrian walking along a highway in Union County lost their life when they were hit by a car on Sunday, August 14. Officials report the victim was identified as 51-year-old Christopher Maclin of Dallas, Georgia.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports that the incident occurred along Interstate 22 just before 1:00 a.m. A Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Jackson Hudson, 18, struck Maclin while he walked along the interstate.
Maclin was pronounced deceased on-site by responding medical professionals. Officials believe Maclin was walking along the interstate after his truck broke down along the highway.
