Union County, MS (January 19, 2024) – A car accident happened in Union County on Friday, January 19, that caused injuries.
Emergency responders including police, EMTs, and fire crews were sent to the crash site shortly after it occurred to help the people involved. At around 8:09 p.m., responders were seen helping at the wreck site on Interstate 22 near Exit 55. Two or more cars collided under circumstances still being investigated by area authorities. All westbound lanes of the interstate were closed, causing substantial delays in traffic. Local motorists were asked to use alternate travel routes while the scene was occupied by emergency workers.
