Vicksburg, MS (May 3, 2022) – Around 11:13 a.m. on Tuesday morning, May 3, one person lost their life in a fatal motorcycle accident in Vicksburg.
Vicksburg Police confirmed that a homeowner called in about the wreck, which happened in front of his home at 4700 MS-27. When police arrived at the scene, they found that a log truck had struck a motorcyclist due to reasons that are not yet known. The motorcycle was lying on the ground and severely damaged as a result of the accident.
Several responders were called in to the scene, including Vicksburg Fire officials and paramedics. The motorcyclist was initially deemed unresponsive. The unidentified party was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities quickly closed down the entire road near the intersection with Countyside Road. Traffic was diverted to China Grove until the scene was cleared.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances that led up to the accident.
