Vicksburg, MS (May 11, 2022) – Around 9:15 p.m. on the night of Monday, May 9, a car accident took place on a major roadway in Vicksburg.
According to Vicksburg Police, the accident happened on Old Highway 27. Vicksburg Police were immediately dispatched to the scene where they found that a vehicle went off the side of the road and down an embankment after the driver lost control due to unknown reasons. The vehicle sustained severe front-end damage as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel was dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Aid was rendered to both the driver and a passenger in the vehicle. The passenger sustained a minor injury and the driver sustained an arm injury. Both of the individuals were taken to local hospitals but are expected to recover.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
Vicksburg Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
