Vicksburg, MS (January 27, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious rollover accident that happened in Vicksburg on Wednesday evening, January 26.
According to Vicksburg Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of US-61. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with one another due to reasons that are not fully known. One of the involved vehicles, identified as a white sedan, left the roadway and rolled over in the median. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The female driver inside the rolled vehicle had to be extricated by fire crews. She was the only person injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The roadway was blocked in southbound lanes for a period of time until police were able to clear the scene.
