Vicksburg, MS (March 11, 2022) – Early Friday, March 11, a two-vehicle accident with injuries took place at an intersection in Vicksburg.
According to Vicksburg Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Cherry Street and Main Street. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, colliding forcefully with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person was trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews. The party was taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the intersection was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene.
