Yazoo City, MS (December 4, 2021) – At 10:43 p.m. on Friday, December 3, a man was killed in a fatal crash in Yazoo City.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened on MS-3 around the area of McGraw Road. Police confirmed that a Toyota Camry being operated by 40-year-old Roderick Williams was traveling north in the area. His vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Silverado being driven by 52-year-old Roderick Baker due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Williams was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet, as well as two other passengers, were injured and airlifted to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was entirely blocked in the area of the accident for some time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
