Yazoo County, MS (May 26, 2023) – One person lost their life, and two others were hurt after a two-car accident in Yazoo County. The wreck was reported to officials in the area at around 4:46 p.m.
Emergency responders were sent to the scene on US 49 at Highway 16 on Friday, May 26. News reports concerning the incident show that Lacy Bowman, 34, of Yazoo, was headed north on the highway in her Chevrolet Tahoe when her vehicle crashed into a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan operated by Vaughan resident Angie Crogier. The 82-year-old woman was headed south at the intersection of US 49 and Highway 16.
Information from local news sources shows Bowman was transported to Baptist Hospital in Yazoo City with injuries of an unknown magnitude. A passenger present in the Dodge Caravan, 61-year-old Elijah Crogier, of Vaughan, was taken to UMMC with unknown injuries.
Authorities in Yazoo County continue to investigate the details of the accident.
