Yazoo County, MS (March 30, 2023) – Just after 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Yazoo County. Information from the Mississippi Highway Patrol shows the incident happened on Highway 16.
Sources report the wreck occurred on Highway 16 near Vaughan Road. Investigators said a woman identified as Shirley Williams, 37, was driving a 2009 Ford Focus west on the highway when she struck a man identified as 27-year-old Robert Hamil.
Police in Yazoo County are working to figure out how the incident took place. Hamil was pronounced deceased on-site by paramedics, according to reports.
