D’Iberville, MS (February 28, 2022) – On Sunday, February 27, four people were hurt in a carnival float accident in D’Iberville.
According to local officials, the accident happened around noon at the North Bay Parade on Lemoyne Boulevard. Police confirmed that a truck was pulling the float when it became unhitched from the back. The float crashed into a retaining wall in the area, leading to extensive damages to the wall and the float.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Four people who were on the float sustained injuries as a result of the accident. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, the area was blocked for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
