Mississippi Auto Accidents
Each year, Mississippi auto collisions result in injuries for thousands of people. In numerous cases, innocent individuals sustain injuries due to the negligent actions of others. Auto collisions happen for a plethora of reasons. However, some are more common than others. Some of the most common causes of car crashes in Mississippi and throughout the US include intoxication, running red lights, and speeding.
Many traffic accidents happen due to speeding. For some reason, people think that getting to their destination quicker is more important than protecting their own safety and that of others on the road. Speeding greatly increases the chance that you may lose control of your car, and you are less likely to be able to stop in time if an accident or roadblock of some kind is up ahead.
Auto accidents are often caused by driver impairment. Driving while intoxicated is never, ever safe. It not only places you at serious risk, but it also risks the lives of everyone whom you encounter on the roadway. You’re more likely to make bad decisions if you’re impaired, and your vision, judgment, and reaction times will be unsafely altered, likely to cause an accident.
Driving through stop lights also causes many auto collisions per year. Individuals may think that saving time is achievable by running red lights, however, it is never worth the risk. Running a red light puts you at greater risk of becoming involved in a crash with a vehicle coming from another direction. This can cause you and others to sustain severe or even fatal injuries.
