Natchez, MS (January 3, 2022) – A man from Mississippi was killed, and two others suffered injuries in a two-car crash in Jefferson County. Sources said the accident happened early on Saturday morning. Police say the crash happened shortly before 9:00 a.m.
Information from preliminary reports shows Dawson Lawler, a 22-year-old Lumberton resident, was killed in a collision on Highway 88. He was headed south just north of Roy Road when he was involved in an accident with a 2016 Ford.
Lawler was transported to Jefferson Regional Hospital with critical injuries. He later died.
The Ford was driven by 38-year-old Ruby Osorio of Altheimer, who was accompanied by one minor passenger. Both were injured in the crash and taken to Jefferson Regional for treatment.
Authorities in Natchez are still investigating the circumstances of the incident.
