Jackson, MS (January 17, 2023) – A teenage motorist was seriously injured in a collision in Jones County. The crash happened in Moselle on Monday afternoon, January 16.
Information provided by the Jones County Sheriff’s Department shows an investigator in an unmarked JCSD Tahoe was headed south on I-59 near Moselle when it apprehended a black Mustang.
The Mustang was trailed by the investigator onto Seminary Road. The driver of the Mustang then took a left turn onto US Highway 11 onto Moselle Road, where he crashed. EMServ Ambulance, along with South Jones and Southwest Jones volunteer fire departments, responded to the scene.
Reports show the driver was trapped inside the vehicle. The Jaws of Life were used to open the door of the Mustang and free the driver, who was reportedly 16 years old.
The teenage driver was transported to Forrest General Hospital with serious injuries. His current health condition is unknown.
Police in Jackson are still investigating the details of the accident.
