Jackson, MS (March 19, 2023) – Three people sustained injuries in a head-on collision on Friday, March 18, in Rankin County. Several Rankin County agencies responded to the scene at approximately 8:00 a.m. in order to help those involved.
Police at the scene reported that a woman and her child sustained injuries in the accident. The baby was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries while responders worked for over two hours to free the mom from the wreckage.
The baby’s mother was also transported to a hospital with injuries. The second vehicle’s driver was also extricated and transported to the hospital by ambulance.
What led to the crash remains unknown at this time. The identities of the injured victims have not been reported.
Police in Jackson continue to investigate.
