Meridian, MS (April 14, 2023) – Information provided by the Mississippi Highway Patrol shows one person lost their life in a fatal traffic accident in Meridian. The accident happened shortly after 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, according to information provided by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Local news sources confirmed that a vehicle ran off of Interstate 59 near milepost 137 and crashed into a tree. The crash took the life of the driver, who was pronounced deceased on-site. An adult passenger suffered serious injuries in the collision, sources said.
The names of the crash victims have not been reported to the public at this time. Authorities in Meridian continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
