Panola County, MS (July 5, 2023) – On Wednesday morning, July 5, a fatal traffic accident involving a semi-truck happened in Panola County. A woman identified as 63-year-old Verda Taylor lost her life in the crash.
According to initial reports concerning the incident, it happened at around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday when Taylor, a resident of Sardis, was headed north on Highway 6. Her vehicle was involved in a crash with a Peterbilt truck driven by Charles L. Johnson, age 55, of Enid.
Johnson’s semi-truck was traveling on Highway 315 when the collision occurred. Taylor suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Johnson was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the details of the accident.
