Mississippi Semi-Truck Accidents
Semi-truck accidents are some of the most dangerous and deadly crashes that happen on roadways in America and throughout the state of Mississippi. On average, tens of thousands of crashes happen per year throughout the US that involve tractor-trailers. A percentage of these end up causing serious injuries or even taking the lives of those involved. More often than not, these crashes are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. Though semi-truck drivers are trained to remain alert, aware, awake, and sober while behind the wheel, and to maintain their vehicles in safe, pristine, working order, not all of them do so.
Driving a semi-truck as a full-time job can be an exhausting occupation. Truck drivers often work long, grueling hours that force them to stay awake for stretches of time that the average person would not be able to endure. This is because trucking companies have deadlines and demands that must be met in order for their drivers to keep their jobs – which can result in unsafe and unhealthy driving conditions for truck drivers and other drivers on the roadway.
When you or someone you love has been hurt in a traffic accident involving a semi-truck, it is important to be able to determine how the collision occurred, especially if you think it may have been the fault of the semi-truck driver. Trucking companies often have large insurance policies that may provide coverage for any/all damages you have endured in relation to the collision. Especially if you have lost a loved one in an accident caused by a semi-truck driver, filing a wrongful death claim for financial compensation is definitely in your best interest.
