Brandon, MS (May 6, 2022) – A victim lost their life in a fatal two-vehicle collision on a major Brandon highway on Friday afternoon, May 6.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the collision happened on MS-13 around the Puckett area. Due to reasons that are not yet fully known, two vehicles collided with each other violently, ending up in different positions on the road. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Reports indicate that several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews from local departments, were immediately dispatched to the scene. One person was severely injured in the accident, though it is not known if they were a driver or a passenger. The unidentified party was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if any other parties were hurt in the accident.
The roadway was entirely blocked in the area following the collision. Police worked to clear the scene within several hours.
