Hattiesburg, MS (November 23, 2021) – Around 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning, November 23, a fatal truck accident occurred in Hattiesburg.
According to Hattiesburg Police, the accident happened at 7000 MS-49. An SUV was traveling in the area when the driver was unable to stop in time for an 18-wheeler that slowed down. The SUV ran into the back of the truck in one of the southbound lanes. This caused extensive damages to the SUV.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the SUV, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time.
