Jackson, MS (March 29, 2023) – On Wednesday afternoon, March 29, police were sent to the scene of an accident in Jackson. At least one person suffered injuries in the wreck that happened at around 3:35 p.m.
Reports from authorities show the incident took place on US 49 near US 80. An unknown number of cars crashed on the roadway, resulting in injuries. Multiple responders were sent to the scene shortly after the accident happened to help those who were hurt.
Paramedics treated and transported injured parties to the hospital as necessary. Their identities have not been reported at this time.
Traffic was backed up due to all lanes of US 49 being blocked for an extended time period on Wednesday afternoon. Police in Jackson continue to investigate.
