Lauderdale County, MS (August 5, 2023) – Police in Lauderdale County were notified of a serious accident that happened shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Emergency crews went to the scene of the crash to help the involved parties and investigate shortly after the incident occurred.
Sources say the accident happened on Interstate 20 near the Russell exit, exit 160. Currently, the total number of injured victims has not been reported. Paramedics helped those with injuries and transported them to the hospital for further assistance as needed.
Traffic delays ensued in the westbound lanes of the road for some time on the afternoon of August 4. Emergency responders worked to clear the roadway in an effort to restore regular traffic in the area, investigate the circumstances of the crash, and help those with injuries.
