Laurel, MS (February 12, 2023) – A two-car wreck occurred in Jones County on Friday evening, February 10, that caused injuries. Sources say the incident occurred shortly after 5:00 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, the wreck occurred on US 84 near Flynt Road. Emergency crews, including police, EMTs, and first responders from the Calhoun Volunteer Fire Department, were dispatched to the area to render aid to those involved.
One person had to be extricated from their vehicle by firefighters. While emergency responders rendered aid to injured victims, firefighters cleared the wreckage from the road and assisted with traffic control.
The westbound lanes of US 84 were closed due to the crash. Both Flynt Road and the Highway were shut down for approximately an hour.
Responders from the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Jones County Sheriff’s Department also rendered aid at the scene.
