Madison, MS (August 6, 2023) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol are currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened in Madison. A pedestrian identified as 39-year-old Matthew Adams lost his life in the incident that took place just after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5.
Responders including EMTs and police were dispatched to the wreck site on Interstate 55 shortly after it happened. Reports show that Adams was headed south on the interstate when he was struck by a vehicle.
The collision occurred for reasons still under local law enforcement investigation. Adams was rendered emergency medical aid on-site by paramedics, however, he lost his life at the scene.
Police in Madison continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
