Oxford, MS (April 23, 2022) – At 5:40 p.m. on the evening of Friday, April 22, a car accident with injuries took place on a roadway in Oxford.
According to Oxford Police Department officials, the accident happened at 113 South 9th Street in front of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more drivers lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide with each other. This led to extensive damages in the involved vehicles.
Several local Oxford responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time after the accident. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
