Mississippi Traffic Accidents
Pedestrians are undoubtedly the most vulnerable travelers on the roadway at any given time. Due to the fact that they travel without any protection, they are at high risk of being hurt or even killed if they become involved in a traffic accident. This is why it is extremely important for drivers to look out for pedestrians and vice versa.
Those who ride ATVs are also at an increased risk of sustaining serious injuries or losing their lives if they become involved in traffic accidents. Each year, more than 700 people are killed, and approximately 100,000 emergency room visits result from ATV crashes in the United States.
Anyone who travels on public roadways needs to remain alert, awake, aware, and sober at all times and remember to stay mindful of other people around you. If you fail to do this, you’re preaching your duty of care to your fellow citizens, which is against the law. Negligent driving has become a severe problem throughout the country due to the actions of people who become distracted, intoxicated, overtired, or travel at unsafe speeds.
The National Highway traffic safety administration reports that more than 92% of reported car crashes in the United States are caused by negligent driving. For example, fatigued driving causes more than 100,000 accidents per year, and distracted driving is responsible for more than 400,000 collisions annually. Sadly, about 3,000 people lose their lives each year due to the actions of distracted drivers.
