Thaxton, MS (February 29, 2024) – A two-car accident occurred in Thaxton that caused injuries. According to information from police, the wreck took place on Highway 278 in the westbound lanes of the highway at around 7:30 p.m. The Mississippi Highway Patrol said that moderate injuries resulted from the accident, however, those involved have not been identified. The road was blocked for an extended time period while emergency workers were present in the area. Area authorities asked local drivers to find alternate routes.
