Yazoo County, MS – Gwendolyne Brauer Killed, Several Hurt in Three-Car Crash on Hwy 3

Yazoo County, MS (October 10, 2023) – One person lost their life, and several others were hurt in a crash in Yazoo County. Reports from authorities show it took place on Monday, October 9 at approximately 4:00 p.m. 

Emergency responders went to the wreck site to help the involved individuals shortly after the accident happened on Highway 3. Police say a 2007 Acura TL sideswiped a 2005 Nissan Xterra, forcing it to overturn on the northbound shoulder.

Police say the Acura was then involved in a head-on crash with a 2011 Hyundai Elantra. A woman identified as 62-year-old Gwendolyne Brauer of Satartia, lost her life at the scene. She was driving the Elantra at the time of the crash. 

The person driving the Acura was flown to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson due to the extent of their injuries. A passenger present in the Acura was transported to Merit Health Vicksburg. 

The people in the Nissan Xterra were transported by a private vehicle to an area hospital. 

Authorities in Yazoo County continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
